This is us! Welcome to anyone who is new. Here is a little introduction! We are Chris, Amy, Emerson aka Emmy (the reason you’re probably here), and little brother Reese! We live in Southern California along with all of our siblings and our parents. Chris and I met in 2005 and after years of friendship and dating we married in 2011. After a few years of marriage and saving money as a dual income family we decided to start a family. That proved to be much more challenging than I ever dreamed. 3 years later after acupuncture, chiropractics, vitamins and anything else you can possible think of we turned to the big stuff. We experienced 7 failed IUI’s, 2 failed IVF (5 embryos) and then in December 2015 our final embryo was transferred and took. 20 weeks later we were given a surprise Down syndrome diagnosis. It was a scary pregnancy and an early birth but she has been nothing short of incredible from day one. I was an elementary school teacher but I’ve been fortunate to be able to stay home these past 4 years. Emmy is such a gift and we enjoyed her first 18 months completing dedicated to her grown and development and meeting new amazing friends. Then the surprise of our life in March 2018 when we found out I was pregnant again, this time naturally 😳. Reese was born in November of 2018. Emmy embraced her role as big sister so quickly. Emmy is such a nurturing person and has loved and smothered Reese since day one, well maybe it was day 2 or 3. Reese sometimes enjoys all the love and other days prefers some space. 

We live a very normal, simple, and good life. Our pictures aren’t perfect but that’s reality. I started this website to show what our lives are really like raising a child with Down syndrome. I’m as honest as I can be and I always welcome any questions you have so send them my way. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about us.
